Trusted information to help you take the next step
Aged care can feel difficult to understand at first. This page brings together trusted Australian and Queensland resources that can help individuals, families, carers and referrers understand aged-care pathways, rights, safety and support options.
Understanding your rights and choices
Older Australians receiving aged care have rights to safe, respectful and dignified care. These include the right to make decisions, privacy, clear information, to raise concerns and to involve family members or supporters.
For free, independent aged-care advocacy and information, contact the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN).
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission provides clear information about rights, quality, safety, complaints and what people should expect from aged-care services.

WattleCare Services is progressing through the Australian Government aged-care registration process. Services will commence only after registration approval and when suitable staff and service capacity are available. While registration is being progressed, we can help explain general aged-care pathways, point you toward trusted resources and help you understand what information may be useful before speaking with My Aged Care, a GP, hospital team or another support service.
