Laura Zimmerman

Laura Zimmerman is a Nurse Practitioner and the Founder and CEO of Wattle & River Home Health, with more than 14 years of experience across advanced practice nursing, diabetes and chronic disease management, telehealth, digital health innovation and rural health reform. She holds a Master of Nurse Practitioner from Flinders University and postgraduate qualifications in diabetes education, chronic disease management and health innovation.

Before founding Wattle & River Home Health, Laura worked across hospital wards, chronic disease clinics, cardiac rehabilitation, rural general practice and advanced diabetes care. She has coordinated complex care programs, trained clinicians across Australia, contributed to national reforms as a Principal Investigator with the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations, and served as a JBI Implementation Science Reviewer.

Laura founded Wattle & River Home Health to raise the standard of private home care for rural families. Her leadership combines clinical governance, multidisciplinary teamwork and genuine community connection, with a commitment to dignity, respect, evidence and helping people stay well at home through safe, coordinated and person-centred care.
